Fresh Flower Care

If you love flowers, then you need to know how to take care of them correctly.

First, the most important thing you can do is keep the water clean. I would say change it every other day you can hold onto the flowers at the top of the vase dump the water out and then fill it in your kitchen sink until it runs over and is clear.

Second keep away from warm, drafts or fireplace or warm, electronics or direct sun from a window.

Third, you can place some flowers in a cool garage or outside on a covered patio as long as temperatures do not go to freezing. It will be like Florist cooler keeping your flowers at the optimum and they won’t continue to expire. I would do this at night right before you go to bed and then in the morning, bring them back in to enjoy.

Fourth keep them away from fruit and vegetables as these release, toxic gases that kill flowers.

Fifth remove flowers that are wilted or have already died because those create bacteria and gases that will kill the other flowers in the vase.

Keeping these things in mind will help extend the life of your bouquet, but also realize that most fresh flowers only lasts between 3 to 7 days dependent on the conditions that they’re kept. I have had customers say their bouquets last for four weeks doing these things. Good luck!
